Intervista a Roy Khan (15-06-2018)

Ho avuto l’onore di intervistare ROY KHAN, ex vocalist dei KAMELOT e ora, nuovamente, vocalist della sua vecchia band, i CONCEPTION.
Ci tenevo molto a fare questa intervista, sia per dare una mano alla band a diffondere nuovamente il loro verbo, sia perchè Roy è stato l’uomo che mi ha ispirata nella stesura del mio esordio “Il Giglio Nordico”, in fase di revisione e attesa di recessione.
Attendere queste fantastiche risposte è stato molto emozionante, ma leggerle lo è stato ancora di più. Da Alchimista delle Parole ho posto delle domande un pò particolari, ma mi aspettavo che Roy desse delle esaustive risposte a tutto. Ebbene, ecco a voi l’intervista:

Salve Mr.Khan, è un onore poterti intervistare. Io sono Alessandra, autrice italiana di fantasy. Ho deciso di farti questa intervista perchè il mio libro parla di te. Essendo tua fan da tempo ho avuto l’ispirazione di scrivere questa storia su di te che fin da subito ho avuto la sensazione di conoscerti da sempre. Chissà che magari un giorno leggendolo, tu non possa avere la stessa sensazione su di me.
1-Il tuo avvicinamento alla Chiesa ti ha aiutato a prendere più facilmente la decisione di questo allontanamento dallo spettacolo o ti è solo stato di sostegno durante questo periodo di transazione?
>>> Roy: Direi entrambi
2-Nelle tue passate tournée hai visto tanti luoghi, tra cui anche l’Italia. Che cosa ti è piaciuto dell’Italia e quali luoghi hai amato di più?
>>> Roy: Adoro il cibo italiano e i pazzi fan metallari. Milano è la città dove sono stato di più, quindi sarà sempre la numero #1. Non sono mai stato a Roma, mi piacerebbe andarci, oppure in una delle grandi isole.
3-Nelle tue canzoni, sembra che tu sia sempre alla ricerca di qualcosa (o qualcuno). Da che cosa nasce questa tua continua ricerca?
>>> Roy: Potrebbe essere diverso da canzone a canzone, ma riguardo “il senso della vita” potrebbe essere una fonte di ispirazione senza senso?
Ora vorrei farti qualche domanda riguardo a libri. So che sei un appassionato lettore ed in questo momento stai parlando con un’appassionata scrittrice che ti ha reso protagonista di una saga.
4- Nel mio libro sei uno stregone. Hai mai immaginato qualche volta di appartenere ad un eventuale mondo magico, con il tuo sguardo magnetico e la tua figura che sembra uscita da un romanzo gotico?
>>> Roy: Haha… non so veramente cosa dire, sono senza parole. Comunque vedo che hai molti libri pubblicati.Super cool!
5-In merito a ciò e alla magia che si narra in questo libro, ti andrebbe di raccontarci un tuo sogno ricorrente per capire se esiste una sorta di connessione tra i tuoi sogni e ciò che ho scritto?
>>> Roy: non ho sogni ricorrenti, almeno non attualmente. Mi piacerebbe conoscere il nome del tuo libro.

I had the honor to interviewing ROY KHAN, former of KAMELOT and now, again, vocalist of his old band, CONCEPTION.
I really wanted to do this interview, both to give a hand to the band to spread their word again, and because Roy was the man who inspired me to write my debut “Il Giglio Nordico”, now under review and waiting for recession. Waiting for these fantastic answers was very emotional, but reading them was even more so. As Alchemis of the Words I asked some questions a bit special, but as I expected, Roy gave exhaustive answers to everything.

Hi Mr.Khan, it’s an honour for me to be able to interview you. I am Alessandra, an Italian fantasy author. I decided to do this interview because my book talks about you. Being your fan for a long time I had the inspiration to write this story about you that I immediately had the feeling of knowing you from the beginning. Who knows that maybe one day, reading it, you may not have the same feeling about me.
1-Your approach to faith in the Church, help you more easily to make the decision of this departure from the performance or is it only a support during this period of transition?
>>> Roy: I would say both.
2-In your past tour you’ve seen so many places, including Italy. What did you like about Italy and which places did you love most?
>>> Roy: I definitely love Italian food and the crazy metal fans there! Milano is the city I’ve been to the most times. So it’ll have to be that for #1. I have never been to Rome. Would love to go there or to one of the big islands.
3-In your songs, it seems you are always looking for something (or someone). What is the source of your ongoing research?
>>> Roy: It could be different from song to song, but thoughts around ’the meaning of life’ is a pretty much bottomless source of inspiration?
Now, I would like to ask you some questions about books. I know you’re a strong reader and at this moment you’re talking to a passionate writer who made you the protagonist of a saga.
4- In my book you are a Sorcerer. Have you ever imagined sometimes to belong to a possible magical world, with your magnetic gaze and your figure that seems to have come out of a Gothic novel?
>>> Roy: Haha… I don’t really know what to say to this…I am speechless anyway. I see you have many books out there. Super cool!!!
5-About it and about magic that is being narrated in this book, would you like to tell us about your recurring dream to understand if there is a sort of connection between your dreams and what I wrote?
>>> Roy: I don’t have any recurring dreams as such…at least not nowadays. Would love to know the name of the book.
